Create from a public template
Start with a public template when you want prepared steps that you can adapt. Review the template, keep what is useful, then save your version as a checklist or routine.

Customize the template tasks
- Open a template from the Create screen.
- Read its description and preview its tasks.
- For a simple template, keep all tasks or clear the ones you do not need.
- If the template offers choices, select a preset or answer the questions. You can then add, remove, rename, or reorder the draft steps.
- Continue to Save when the draft fits your needs.
Your changes affect only the checklist or routine you are creating, not the public template. When publisher details are available, you can open them to see who created the template.
Choose how to save
Choose Use once for something you want to work through now. Choose Repeat as routine if you plan to use these steps again, then select Create Checklist or Create Routine. The item keeps the template's name and notes and is saved to the currently selected team.
You need permission to create the item in the selected team and an internet connection to load and save templates. If a template supports only one destination, Checklist saves to that destination without showing the choice.
Examples of checklist templates
Templates are useful when a list is long or easy to overlook a step. That might mean using a travel checklist to cover trip preparation, a moving checklist to keep each stage of a move together, or an office supplies checklist when you want standard categories ready to adapt.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I change the tasks after saving?
Yes. You can edit a saved checklist as you work through it, or edit a routine before future runs. Your changes do not affect the public template.
Why does my template builder look different?
Some templates show a simple task list. Others guide you through groups, presets, or questions. When both destinations are supported, you finish by choosing whether to use the template once or repeat it as a routine.
