Choose the Right View
A checklist can be more than a list of checkboxes. Its view determines how the tasks appear and how people work through them.
Which view should you choose?
| View | Best for | Example |
|---|---|---|
| List | A straightforward list of tasks | Weekend packing |
| Table | Tasks with extra details in columns | Product launch tracking |
| Board | Work that moves through stages | Requests to review, approve, and finish |
| Notes | Tasks presented as cards | Research notes and planning |
| Form | Collecting answers or information | Inspection or application |
| Play | Following a guided set of steps | Morning routine or equipment check |
List
Start here if you're unsure. Add a task, check it off, and move on. You can add subtasks, dates, and notes when needed.
Table and Board
Choose Table when you want to compare or edit information across many tasks. Choose Board when moving work between columns is central to the process.
Notes
Choose Notes when you want to read and organize tasks as cards rather than rows.
Form and Play
Choose Form when the main task is answering questions or recording information. Choose Play when people should work through a process with guidance, including optional timers.
Can I change the view?
A view is a way of working with the checklist, not a second copy of it. You can switch between the views available to you. Owners can also use Customize to choose which views other people see.
Not every view is available in every situation. The original checklist, template settings, and your permissions determine what you can use.
