Manage members and guests

Use People & Sharing to see who belongs to the team and whether each person is an owner, member, or guest.

Members and guests with role badges

Members and guests

Members can create checklists, use routines, receive task assignments, and use schedules included in the plan. Guests can work only in checklists shared with them. A badge shows each person's role.

A manager with permission can promote a guest to member. If the organization needs room for more members, Checklist may offer an upgrade to Family. Family is designed for the owner plus up to five members. Guests keep more limited access.

Remove someone or leave

Removing someone can take away their access to shared work, so Checklist asks you to confirm. Review checklist ownership and task assignments first.

If you leave a team, you lose the access that came with your membership and cannot undo the action yourself. Before leaving, make sure another appropriate person owns any important work.

You need an internet connection to change a role, remove someone, or leave a team.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I make someone a member or guest?

Make them a member if they need to create and manage work for the team. Use guest access if they only need particular shared checklists.

Why can I not change a role?

Your role, organization ownership, or plan may prevent the change. Checklist also prevents an organization owner from leaving when doing so would leave the organization unmanaged.
