Create Your First Checklist
Start with something you need to do once, such as packing for a weekend. You'll make a checklist, add four tasks, and tick them off as you go.
In this example, we'll call it Weekend packing.
1. Create the checklist
- Open the Checklist web app.
- Select Create in the left menu.
- Enter Weekend packing as the name.
- Select Start Blank.
- Choose the Checklist option for one-time work.
- Keep List as the view and select Create.
Your new checklist opens, ready for tasks.
2. Add a few tasks
Add these tasks one at a time using the task field and its add button:
- Pack clothes
- Charge phone
- Bring passport or ID
- Check travel details
You can change a task's name later. Select any task to open its details on the right.
3. Work through the list
Select the checkbox beside Charge phone when the phone is ready. The task is marked complete.
Select the checkbox again if you need to reopen it. Check off the remaining tasks as you finish them.
The checkbox beside the checklist name changes the status of the whole checklist. Use that when you want to mark the entire list complete or reopen it.
What's next?
Once your packing is done, you're finished. You don't need to reopen a one-time checklist for it to be useful.
If you expect to use the same steps regularly, create a reusable template instead.
