Set up mobile notifications
Turn on notifications when you want reminders about unfinished work, due tasks, or checklists created by a routine schedule.

Choose reminders
Open Settings and find Notifications.
- Set the default notification time. Quick due-date choices can also use this time.
- Enable Daily reminder to receive a regular prompt to check tasks.
- Enable Mobile under Due Tasks for device alerts.
- Enable Email when you also want due-task reminders by email.
- Use Test Notification when available to confirm that the device can display an alert.
Allow notifications on the device
Checklist cannot override notification permissions on iOS or Android. If notifications are disabled, use the shortcut to open your device settings and allow them. Checklist checks the permission again when you return.
Troubleshoot missing alerts
Check that the relevant option is enabled in Checklist, the due time or scheduled run is still in the future, and your device allows notifications. Battery restrictions, Focus modes, and notification-channel settings can also delay or silence alerts.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does the due date remain when alerts are off?
A due date is task data. Notification permission controls the alert, not whether the date is saved.
What does Test Notification check?
It confirms that Checklist can display a local test alert at that moment. It does not create a task due date or routine schedule.
