Choose the region that fits your trip
Georgia offers the strongest cluster of Hawkins stops, with Jackson's square giving you several recognizable exteriors on one walk. Lithia Springs, Norcross, Powder Springs and the Rome area are separate outings, so check driving distances before combining them. Book a restaurant, escape room or campus visit around its real operating arrangements rather than the order scenes appear on screen.
Albuquerque makes a different, compact filming day: a public skating session at Skate-O-Mania and a daylight stop at Snow Park. Vilnius is a separate city-break option, with Lukiškės offering a guided visit to a historic site used for season 4. The town, country and on-screen setting are deliberately shown separately so you can plan by real geography.
Match the shot to the visit
A recognizable facade can survive even when signage, interiors or props have changed. Jackson Escape Games and Escape Woods add contemporary games at filming locations; choose them for the experience as well as the screen connection. For an exterior-only stop, a photograph from a lawful public space is enough to count as your visit.
Keep the Creel House and other private homes off your walking route unless an owner explicitly offers access. Berry's account confirms the Creel House connection, but filming does not turn a residence into an attraction. Berry College filming context↗
Hawkins Lab at Emory's Briarcliff site and Starcourt at Gwinnett Place Mall belong in production history rather than an assumed open-set itinerary. The county documents the mall's redevelopment; a familiar screen image is not evidence of current access or surviving sets. Gwinnett County project information↗
Make a film-location shortlist
For another screen-inspired journey, compare the Twilight filming locations or explore the Harry Potter filming locations. Keep each franchise as its own checklist so you can track what you have actually seen.
Who it's for
How to use
- Browse by Country, Region, On screen, Type and Access to compare places that fit your trip. Filters change the displayed catalogue, not what gets saved.
- Use Start tracking to save the whole catalogue to your account. Keep future destinations for later and mark a location complete once you have visited it.
- Open each location's notes before travel. Use the linked venue or tourism information to check hours, bookings and access; saving does not reserve admission.
- For a group, use Save & Compare to compare visit progress. Agree what counts as a visit, such as a lawful exterior view or a booked interior tour.
