  • Caulk
  • Roofing cement
  • Putty knife
  • Rags (for clean ups)
  • Grocery bag (for soiled rags and any other clean-up items)
  • Disposable or work gloves (optional)
  • Fasten the Vent Sleeve
  • Slide storm collar over the top of the vent sleeve.
  • Ensure the vent sleeve is low enough to make room for the rain cap.
  • Gently move the vent sleeve into the pipe
  • Be Careful not to disturb any asbestos inside the pipe.
  • Caulk the Vent
  • Bond the storm collar in place with caulk
  • Check to ensure the bond is tight by running your finger along the seam.
  • Place the rain cap on top of the vent.
  • Repair Possible Roof Leaks
  • Observe and locate other holes or weak spots in the roof.
  • Use putty knife and roofing cement to patch up any leaks.
  • Use the roof cement to thoroughly cover any holes or cracks around the roof sheeting.
