- Exterior
- Mow the lawn and trim the vegetation.
- Keep the lawn mowed on a regular basis as long as your home is on the market.
- Clean the driveway.
- Clear all vegetation from the walkways and out of driveway cracks.
- Keep your garbage containers at the rear of the house .
- Keep toys and bicycles from the yard.
- Make sure the 'Real Estate For Sale' sign is upright, prominent, and in reasonably good condition.
- Remove window screens from the front of the house and wash the windows.
- Clean the front door and its frame.
- Keep your garage door closed.
- Place a few potted flowers up the front.
- Place trash containers and other similar items out of sight.
- Outdoor furniture should be kept clean and/or repainted if necessary.

- Keep bathrooms free from clutter.
- If you have children, keep their tub toys stored neatly.
- Clean and dust the windowsills.
- Keep blinds open and raised.
- Dust everything.
- Remove ashes and soot from fireplaces.
- Clean all interior doors and frames.
- Keep furniture tidy.
- Clean and straighten closets.
- Keep dirty laundry in a closed hamper.
