Maintenance closure

Universal Volcano Bay’s maintenance closure began October 26, 2026. Universal plans to reopen on or before April 1, 2027; dates may change. Every attraction is marked temporarily closed rather than retired.

What counts in this list

Water-park completion includes more than slides: the two rivers, pools and children’s water-play areas have their own rows. Honu and ika Moana, Maku and Puihi, and Ohyah and Ohno are separate named rides; multiple lanes of a shared attraction stay together.

Height is only one condition

TeAwa requires an approved life vest for every rider. Ohyah and Ohno require strong swimming ability and end in a deep pool. Children’s areas have maximum-height limits, so a blank minimum does not mean unrestricted access.

Check raft loading and slide rules

Raft slides have individual or combined rider-weight limits and party-size rules. Use the current official safety guide and posted signs when the park reopens; the table is not a substitute for lifeguard instructions.

Keep earlier experiences in your record

Documented retired and temporarily closed attractions remain available to check off from past visits. The catalogue focuses on rides and established attractions rather than every seasonal event. For your next visit, read the boarding details as well as the minimum height; companion and restraint rules can also apply.

Compare the four parks in the Universal Orlando parks checklist, or track destinations on the Universal parks and locations checklist.

Who it's for

Visitors choosing experiences at Universal Volcano Bay, returning fans recording earlier rides and friends comparing their progress.

How to use

Compare attractions in the table and open an entry for its description and boarding details. Check experiences you have actually tried, then save your checklist. Save & Compare lets each person keep separate progress in a group; a retired attraction can still count as a past experience.

Volcano Bay Rides & Slides Checklist Frequently Asked Questions

Is Volcano Bay open now?

No. The scheduled maintenance closure began October 26, 2026, with reopening planned on or before April 1, 2027. Check Universal’s park hours for changes.

Are the closed slides being removed?

The park-wide closure is temporary maintenance, not a retirement announcement. The list keeps those attractions marked temporarily closed.

What is the difference between the two rivers?

Kopiko Wai Winding River is a slower lazy river. TeAwa The Fearless River has faster currents and waves, a 42-inch minimum and mandatory life vests for everyone.

Does a blank minimum height mean anyone can use the attraction?

No. Children’s water-play areas have upper-height limits, and pools or rivers may require a life vest or supervising companion. Read the boarding notes and posted rules.
