Move Out Checklist

Get Organized
Plan to do the cleaning as you move.
Get as much help as you can from friends and family.
Review move-in inspection checklist.
Ask your landlord to come over and do an inspection.
Repair any demages, if possible.
Determine if you must pay for any other damages.
Once cleaned, get a copy of the home inspection for your records.
Kitchen
Throw out all food that will not be going with you.
Remove shelves and drawers and hand wash them.
Defrost refrigerator.
Wipe down the fridge and freezer with a wet, soapy rag.
Wipe down the outside of the refrigerator.
Emptly the cabinets and clean them inside and outside.
Give your stove top a thorough cleaning.
Clean the vent above the stove.
Clean the microwave.
Clean the drain and the sink.
Clean light fixtures.
Wipe off all electrical covers.
Sweep and mop the floor.
Bathroom
Clean the sink vanity top with a rag, then the sink.
Clean out all of the drawers and cabinets.
Clean the toilet, use a toilet brush to clean the inside of the bowl.
Scrub out the bathtub and surrounding area.
Make the fixtures shine as well as the mirror.
Tiles should be washed and grout cleaned.
Exhaust fans should be taken down and cleaned.
Remove any cobwebs.
Give the floor a good cleaning.
Other Rooms
Dust and wipe down window blinds and window sills.
Dust ceiling fans and light fixtures.
Remove all cobwebs from walls and ceilings.
Light bulbs should be replaced where needed.
Light covers should be removed from the light fixtures and cleaned.
Clean doors and around frames.
Vacuum the carpet on your way out.
