Holiday Tipping
Holiday tipping is never required.
Don't tip if you can't afford it or you don't feel the person deserves it.
Determine the etiquette in the area by asking around.
Prioritize your most important service providers.
Tip those who serve you all year long and with whom you have a personal relationship.
Consider giving a holiday tip to the folks who take care of your home and family.
Tip up to the cost of one session for personal services.
In a restaurant tip 10-15% on the alcohol and 15-20% on the food.
It's acceptable to give a non-cash gift of up to $20 to Public servants.
Before you arrive at a nicer hotel or resort, inquire as to whether gratuities are included in the price of the room.
When on tour, check if the tip is not already included, otherwise give 10-15% of the tour price.
When you give a tip, include a card or a hand-written note thanking the person for their service.
If your budget does not allow for tips, consider homemade gifts.
If you tip generously all year, you can skimp a bit.
